OSIAN BENTONITE BT-21

Osian Bentonite is untreated and pure Bentonite. Much of bentonite's usefulness in the drilling and geotechnical engineering industry comes from its unique rheological properties. It can absorb 10 times its weight in water. Relatively small quantities of bentonite suspended in water form a viscous, shear thinning material allowing the rock chips to be pumped back to the surface. At high enough concentrations bentonite suspensions begin to take on the characteristics of a gel. For these reasons it is a common component of drilling mud used to curtail drilling fluid invasion by its propensity for aiding in the formation of mud cake also.
OSIAN BARITE BA-21

Osian Barite BA-21 ( BaSO4) is used as a weighting agent in both water and oil based drilling fluids.
Osian Barite BA-21 is supplied as per buyer’s requirement of Minimum specific gravity of 4.2 and 3% Max residue on 75 microns screen. Due to its relatively low cost and high density, Osian Barite BA-21 is the most commonly used weight material in drilling fluids.
The quantity of Osian Barite BA-21 required will depend upon encountered formation pressures and Operator’s specifications. The general formula for calculating the required amount of Barite to achieve a desired density is :
Barite kg/m3 required = 4200 ( W2-W1) / 4200-W2
For every 100 sacks of Osian Barite BA-21 mixed, the volume will increase by 1 cubic metre. It can be added through the hopper as rapidly as required. When used in large quantities, water must be added to the system to prevent mud dehydration.
OSIAN SODIUM CHLORIDE SC-21
OSIAN Sodium Chloride SC-21 is used to prepare Brine.
OSIAN CALCIUM CARBONATE CC-21

Osian Calcium Carbonate is used extensively to increase the mud density. In some applications it is preferred over Barite as it can be dissolved with hydrochloric acid to clean up production zones. It is used as a bridging material in drill-in, completion and workover fluids. Along with polymers it helps to control fluid loss in brines or drill-in, completion and workover fluids.
